Equipped
Posted On 03/15/2010 08:09:44 by SisterNina

It seems more now than ever that the adversary is at full force and unfortunately most of us are not equipped to withstand the wiles of the devil. It is getting close to the last days and the devil knows his days are numbered so he is trying to take as many people with him as possible. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. (1 Peter 5:8 NKJV) That is why it is vital that we make sure every day we are girding ourselves with the whole armor of God. We can do nothing on our own and if we let God fight our battles we are insured victory every time. The devil has already been beaten and a lot of us forget that we already have the victory we just have to remind the adversary of that and send him back to where he came from.

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. (Ephesians 6:11)

When it comes to putting on the armor of God I put it like this… You wouldn’t walk outside half dressed would you? Well that is the same mentality we have to have with the armor of God. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12)

The belt of truth: Then Jesus said to those Jews who believed Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. 32 And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)

Breastplate of righteousness: and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; (Phil. 3:9)

The shoes of the Gospel: How beautiful upon the mountain Are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace,  Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims   salvation, Who says to Zion,   “ Your God reigns!” (Is. 52:7)

The shield of Faith: who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.(1 Peter 1:5)

The helmet of Salvation: The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear?  The LORD is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? (Ps. 27:1)

The sword of the Spirit: For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. (Hebrews 4:12)

So today I ask you, are you dressed?
